President, Gates Consulting Group, LLC
Eboni S. Gates founded Gates Consulting Group, LLC (GCG) in 2006, as a natural result of her personal success in strategic fundraising and events production within the arts and minority business
Prior to establishing GCG, Gates gained experience in a wide-range of arts related organizations. As Senior Account Director at Livet Reichard Company, an event planning and art consulting firm specializing in fund-raising and promotional events for fine arts and philanthropic organizations, Gates managed the firm’s annual events roster, and thrived in the areas of sponsorship procurement and new business development. As the Director of Client Services for Artnet Worldwide, Gates managed over 400 international client gallery accounts. In addition she organized and represented the company at art exhibitions and fairs. During her tenure at Studio Museum in Harlem, Gates managed Membership and Individual Giving for the non-profit, planned, produced and secured strategic partnerships for fundraising events and re-invigorated the Museum’s young professionals group, The Contemporary Friends. The Studio Museum has remained a client since her departure in 2004.
Highlights of Gates’ event planning and fundraising career include: 2x2, an annual four day fundraising event benefitting The Dallas Museum of Art and amFAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research which raised 2.2 million; The Studio Museum in Harlem’s inaugural benefit art auction at Christie’s auction house that raised $1.4 million (more than one million over estimate); Bergdorf Goodman 5th floor opening reception benefiting The New Museum of Contemporary Art and The Studio Museum in Harlem’s Annual Ladies Luncheon, started by GCG in 2007.
