Gillibrand is an accomplished civic leader and attorney in both the public

Search for Common
Ground
Founded in 1982, Search for Common Ground works to transform the way the
world deals with conflict - away from adversarial approaches and towards
collaborative problem solving. They work with local partners to find culturally
appropriate means to strengthen societies' capacity to deal with conflicts
constructively: to understand the differences and act on the commonalities.

Expressive Theater
WET produces media (theater, events, educational programming, film) which
challenges female stereotypes and advocates for equality.

Strategies for New Directions
This organizations’ mission is to advance, validate and implement
teaching methodologies and personal safety curricula that measurably enhance
emotional intelligence, resulting in healthy individuals positively impacting
their communities.
New
Yorkers Against Gun Violence
The mission of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence and its Education Fund
is to reduce gun violence through advocacy and education designed to encourage
action, influence public opinion and lead to policy change. With a primary
focus on New York State, the organizations also advocate at the local
and national levels for laws, policies, and practices that protect New
York State residents (and in particular, youth) from gun violence. Based
in New York City, with chapters around the state, NYAGV reaches out to
residents across the state with information on the issues, supporting
active responses, developing local chapters and building coalitions.
New
York Women's Agenda
NYWA is a coalition of over 100 women's organizations in the New York
City area. NYWA was founded by Ellie Guggenheimer, a long time women's
rights activist.
NAWBO-NYC
NAWBO-NYC inspires and empowers women business owners and promotes
and supports the growth of women-owned businesses. As a unified voice
for women of diverse industries and backgrounds, the organization seeks
to effect social, political and economic change.
WOMEN
PAC
WOMEN PAC is a grass roots political action committee that supports New
York City candidates who present progressive political agendas on women's
issues. Its founders are Melanie McEvoy and Daedre Levine.
