David Lieberman
Associate

David Lieberman first came to McEvoy & Associates, a New York-based fundraising strategy and event planning firm for non-profit and political clients, as a temporary employee in October, 2005. With his extensive administrative and campaign fieldwork experience, David was asked to join full-time in the spring of 2006.

Political Experience
David first became involved in New York City politics while still in elementary school, when he volunteered for Mayor David Dinkins’ re-election campaign in 1993. He has since worked on several political campaigns, including:

  • Hillary Clinton for U.S. Senate
  • Joyce Johnson for City Counci
  • Gale Brewer for City Council
  • Ruth Messenger for Mayor
  • Jerry Nadler for U.S. Congress
  • Wesley Clarke for U.S. President
  • Eric Schneiderman for New York State Senate

David started out doing office work, shredding and mailings, but soon took on the more challenging role of campaign field operations, which included organizing volunteers, overseeing speaking engagement logistics for candidates, and helping to coordinate “street” campaigns where candidates personally meet voters one-on-one. Through this experience, David honed his planning and logistics skills and developed a sharp eye for detail.
David worked in constituent services at the legislative office of State Senate Deputy Minority Leader Eric Schneiderman. In this role, David provided general problem resolution and “troubleshooting” for constituents for a wide range of city services from pothole repair to rent grievances.

Additional Experience & Education
David was a Special Projects Coordinator for the North American Conference on Ethiopian Jewry, a non-profit organization that provides aid to the Jewish community in Ethiopia and the Ethiopian immigrant population in Israel. He also worked for the independent film magazines IndieWire and IFC Rant, where his responsibilities included copy editing, interview transcription and photo research, as well as writing photo captions and news pieces.

Primary Responsibilities
David oversees compliance for the political clients of McEvoy & Associates and maintains the firm’s donor databases. He also provides various office administrative tasks and works on several fundraising and event projects, including the Citizen Action annual gala event.

David has a bachelors degree from Vassar College where he majored in film history and theory and religious studies.
