Congressman Jerry Nadler
Congressman Jerry Nadler is now serving his fifth full term in the House
of Representatives, representing one of the most demographically diverse
districts in the nation. The eclectic district includes most of Manhattan’s
West Side, as well as parts of Brooklyn. Representative Nadler was elected
to Congress in 1992, after serving for 16 years in the New York State
Assembly. He has emerged as a national leader on civil rights, civil liberties,
transportation, and a host of progressive issues such as access to health
care, support for the arts and the expansion of the Social Security system.

Abyssinian Development
Corporation
The Abyssinian Development Corporation (ADC) is a leading non-profit community
development corporation dedicated to building the human, social and physical
capital of Harlem. Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Calvin O. Butts III
who serves as the reverend of the Abyssian Baptist Church, for the past
fifteen years, ADC has helped to strengthen and rebuild the socioeconomic
fabric of the Harlem community by developing housing, spearheading commercial
development, stimulating the local economy, fostering education, strengthening
families and building community capacity through civic engagement. By
providing quality affordable housing, social services, educational opportunities
and economic development programs, ADC has played a key leadership role
in the current "Harlem Renaissance."
Manhattan Borough President Scott
M. Stringer
Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer has devoted his entire career
to community and public service since his appointment, at age 17, to his
local Community Board. As a member of the Assembly, Scott was a leading
reformer and advocate for New York’s working families. Scott was
elected Borough President with the support of a broad coalition of community
leaders and elected officials across Manhattan. In endorsing his candidacy,
The New York Times credited him with having “a sterling reputation
as a catalyst for reform."
The
Olana Partnership
The Olana Partnership
- is the non-profit support arm of Olana State Historic Site. The Partnership's
mission is to advocate and support the preservation and enhancement of
Olana and its integral views, to sponsor educational programs, and to
foster scholarly research on the artist and his property. Named for a
fortress treasure-house in ancient Persia, Olana was the home of Frederic
Edwin Church (1826-1900), one of America's most important artists, a student
of Thomas Cole, and a major figure in the Hudson River School of landscape
painting. Today, Olana is a New York State Historic Site, a National Historic
Landmark, and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Hudson
Valley and upstate New York.
